Life of Pi - an inspiration with lot of messages

‘Life of Pi’ ‘Life of Pi’  ‘Life of Pi’   uhhhh!!!! ……  What an amazing movie!!!  People were so much crazy about this movie because of many reasons. First of all it is Ang lee movie, the academy award winner. Second thing is it is based on the novel with the same name. Third thing is that, the novel has got Booker prize.  Few people did not even know this. They were just talking about a man living with tiger. Some people wanted their child to see this movie because of tiger in that movie. Few people have come because someone has said it is a very good movie. Countable people left the theater in the middle just because it was not their taste. But I was there till the end with pop corn, coke and my bag. Even the coke spoiled the seat and my pant; I was there visualizing each and every second of the movie.

It all started few years back. One of my best friends was reading Life of Pi by Yann Martel.  She is fond of books and she used to read so many fictional, philosophical books.  She referred me this book. I remember I was so lazy that I kept that book in her house only. Then she got married and I kept myself busy in my work.  Last year I was so much stressed because of so many personal and professional problems.  I wanted to be positive and I joined music class. I started doing more asanas for stress.  I kept myself busy in one or the other thing. I wrote poems, I spent time with friends, visited so many places, seen many movies and tried so many things. But I have forgotten the art of reading for some time. Finally I decided to go back to my old habit of reading books, in other way you can say I tried.  One of my friends referred me For One more day by Mitch Albom. I was going through her profile and saw this book Life of Pi. Suddenly I got to know it was the same novel I didn't read long back. I collected information from wiki and collected information about movie also.  Then I read it is directed by the same director who has directed Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. So I was very curious to see this movie.

I and Manji went to movie on 7:30 show.  Manji wanted to see Drama directed by Yograj Bhat since he is a big fan of him. I pulled him to this movie. Usually whenever I go to theaters I look around for beautiful girls, but this time I was a little bit low on that. Lot of topics came in between, Sachin’s retirement, Vivekananda and our college day’s funny incidents. For the first time I was experiencing 3D movie and it was set for a perfect movie. As we finished the movie, we were in the same mood of tiger and Pi. Even the dog looked like a tiger. Now in the mid night I am writing above stuffs because lot of things in our life are related to this movie.

This movie has lot of messages like Pi interpreted the story in different manner. Every life can be interpreted in many positive and negative ways. We express our life in different manner and people interpret our life in different manner. But only we will know what the real truth is. You can say Tiger is selfish in not saying thanks to Pi or you can say Tiger is grateful to Pi and that’s why it didn't killed or you can say Tiger knew it can survive if and only if Pi will be alive. You can say Pi wanted an inspiration to survive and fed tiger. Or else he wanted to save his father’s only property or else he was kind. You can think in many permutations and combinations, many ifs and buts.

 First thing I liked in this movie is his interpretation of God. Long back I wrote a play on national integration. Its only message was all religion tells the same thing humanity, love and peace.  A united nation was the message I wanted to give. I did collected many information and tried a lot. But the play got rejected for annual day, because religion was involved in it. People should understand we have created the religion, not God. We have to respect people, every religion and have to live together. I went back to my college days while watching this movie.

Second thing is Father’s character. That is what every father does. He may be rude to us, but his intention is clearly to make us stronger in facing life.  Third thing is about saying good bye. This is the most important thing we people forget in our life. Expressing to people how much important they are in our life. Swami and Friends also tell the same thing. I have missed many opportunities to tell people how special they are in my life. So I know the importance of expressing the importance of someone in my life. Fourth one is the regret we have in our life. Some time we didn't have the courage to stand by our own decision.  That makes us to regret later.  Even the last scene was also telling so many good things. When people don’t want to listen to your version of story, the truth, you tell their version of story. You don’t need to express yourself to people who don’t want to listen to you, who don’t want to understand you. It also tells about the existence of God. God is there where humanity is there, God is there where courage is there and God is there where love is there. There are many other things to mention. But primary thing is the courage and hope. He had death living with him but he didn't loose the hope. He had the courage to live with the difficulties.  That makes that character very special.

Finally last but not the least. If u doesn't save tiger, the day is not far when you have to take your children to Life of Pi to show this is tiger.
